Caramelized onion and garlic spaghetti

Ingredients
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp chili crisp
- 1 cup cream or coconut milk, room temperature
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz (225 g) pasta of choice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Preparation Method
- Thinly slice onion and mince garlic. Bring cream (or coconut milk) to room temperature.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until caramelized. Add a splash of water if they stick.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain.
- Once onions are golden, stir in garlic and seasonings. Cook 1 minute, then add chili crisp and sauté briefly. Stir in cream (or coconut milk) and simmer a few minutes. Mix in Parmesan until melted.
- Add pasta to skillet, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water to adjust consistency to silky.
- Serve hot, topped with extra chili crisp and fresh parsley if desired.
